About the species

Sika deer is a unique and secretive game species originally from East Asia, now established in several Czech regions. They are known for their vocal rut, elusive nature, and challenging hunting. A sika stag in the misty forest is a true hunter's reward.

The hunt

Sika hunting is all about patience and silence. The best method is from a high seat or slow stalking in the forest. The rut offers intense moments with loud calls echoing through the woods. These hunts are guided and carefully planned to ensure success and full respect for the animal.

Lodging & meals

We provide accommodation in a local hunting lodge or countryside guesthouse, close to the hunting area. Hearty breakfasts and traditional Czech meals are part of the experience. Transfers from accommodation to hunting sites are minimal, allowing you to focus on what matters most – being in nature and enjoying the hunt.

It was my first time hunting a bear and what better place to do it than in the Slovenian mountains. The evening high seat, which felt more like a small lodge, was silent and full of tension. But when the bear finally appeared, everything slowed down. I focused, took a deep breath, and made a clean shot.
It was a powerful moment and then relief, as the bear went down within 30 meters. Huge thanks to the GT Hunting team for another perfect trip, excellent service, and an unforgettable experience.
